Lifecycle of the vine
Vines follow an exact yearly cycle, no matter what the grape.
Sap secretion - Sap secretion from pruning.
Budding - The sap makes the buds open slowly. Fully opened in March.
Leaves - In April leaves are formed.
Blossoming - At the end of May the vines are blossoming.
Pollenation - 20C and a gentle wind required.
Grapes formed - After pollenation, during the summer months.
Grapes ripen - In August the grapes ripen.
Branches harden - At harvest time the branches harden in preparation for the oncoming winter.
Leaves change color - At the beginning of autumn the leaves change color to red or yellow.
Leaves drop - In november the leaves dry up and drop.
