Aromas, aka nose or nez in French, are the smells of the wine or champagne in the glass. Aromas can be floral, citrus, fruity, vegetal, earthy, and many more, and are derived from the grape, the fermentation, and the aging. Aromas are divided into primary aromas, secondary aromas, and tertiary aromas.
