Body refers to the perceived texture and weight of a wine/champagne in the mouth. This comes from a combination of elements, including alcohol, tannins, sugar, and acids. Wine, and champagne, breaks down into three categories: light-body, medium-body, and full-body. Lighter-bodied wines are more delicate while heavier-bodied wines are richer.
