Émilien Boutillat, Chef de Cave of Piper-Heidsieck, won the IWC Sparkling Winemaker of the Year 2021 Award.

The International Wine Challenge (IWC) is accepted as the world’s finest and most meticulously judged wine competition which assesses every wine blind and judges each for its faithfulness to style, region, and vintage.

In his Linkedin page, Émilien commented: “Above all, this award is an important recognition of the entire team’s hard work of Champagne Piper-Heidsieck: all our winegrowers, our partners in the vineyards, our great winemaking team, and all the men and women involved in the production of our champagnes. This award is yours! Thank you all for your passion and commitment. We will together continue to craft and share the finest quality wines.”

In addition, Piper-Heidsieck secured several medals for its wines, namely:
Piper-Heidsieck Vintage 2008 (97 points): Vintage Classic Blend Champagne Trophy, Champagne Trophy, IWC Champion Sparkling Wine 2021 – Daniel Thibault Trophy.
Piper-Heidsieck Essentiel NV in magnum (96 pints): Non-Vintage Champagne Trophy.
