Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label (aka Carte Jaune) is the second most sold champagne in the world. It incarnates the Veuve Clicquot style: power, aromatic intensity, but without heaviness, with freshness and a silky texture.

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label showcases the house’s assemblage skills and important stocks of reserve wines, blending more than 50 crus, with the predominance of Pinot Noir (56%)–typical of Clicquot–one third of Chardonnay (28%) and a touch of Pinot Meunier (16%).

Grapes from 50 to 60 different crus are used to produce the Veuve Cliquot Brut Yellow Label:

50 to 55% Pinot Noir ensures the structure so typical of the House wines

28 à 33% Chardonnay provides the elegance and sophistication essential to a perfectly balanced wine

15 to 20% Pinot Meunier rounds out the blend.

These figures vary slightly from year to year according to conditions.

The winemaking team also includes a high proportion of reserve wines (between 25% and 40%), some as old as 10 to 20 years, to ensure the continuity of the house style.

The strength of this golden-yellow wine is immediately perceived to the nose while its complexity develops on the palate. The initial notes of fruit are followed by more discreet aromas of brioche and vanilla when the wine is allowed to age in the bottle.

Eye: Bright, golden-yellow, with a foaming necklace of tiny bubbles.

Nose: Fresh aromatics of white fruits and raisins, vanilla and brioche. A fine balance between the fruity aromas coming from the grape varieties and the toasty aromas following the aging in the bottle.

Palate: Well structured and nicely vinous. The wine has power yet remarkable elegance and finesse.


Given that Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label manages to reconcile two opposing factors – strength and silkiness -it is ideal as an aperitif, or with a meal.
