Prestige Cuvée

Category

prestige cuvee champagnePrestige or special cuvée is the champagne at the top of a house’s range. They are produced only with the best grapes available, usually from grands crus and pinot noir and/or chardonnay only, using the best bunches and applying the highest production standards. They are almost always vintage wines from the best years.

The most popular are Moët & Chandon Dom Pérignon, Louis Roederer Cristal, Krug Grande Cuvée (a non-vintage, which also includes some meunier), Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, Cattier Armand De Brignac Brut Gold (Jay- Z’s champagne, a non-vintage), and increasingly Rare Millésime.”

My “Holy Trinity” is Grande Cuvée, Dom Pérignon, and Rare. Because of their drastically different yet complementing styles, my motto is “Dom Pérignon at the aperitif, Grande Cuvée at the table, Rare anytime.” In fact, they are so good and versatile that they can all be drank anytime, anywhere, with anything you feel like, for a super champagne moment. Don’t forget to share them with someone; it will lead to very interesting and witty human exchanges ;)

2 YEARS MARKET STUDY ESTABLISHES THAT PROSECCO IS 2 YEARS MARKET STUDY ESTABLISHES THAT PROSECCO IS BETTER THAN CHAMPAGNE!!!

A two-years-long market study conducted by Acme Inc between 1st April 2020 and 1st April 2022 has established that wine critics and consumers prefer prosecco to champagne.

A total of 24 blind tastings were conducted at different wine bars and merchants in 14 countries, including all major champagne markets.

The panel of judges was composed of wine writers and critics (50%) and regular sparkling wine consumers (50%). At each tasting, they were presented with 2 champagnes and 2 prosecco wines.

They were deliberately given misguiding information: champagnes were presented as prosecco wines and vice versa.

The judges were asked to rate each wine on a scale from 1 to 10.

At the end of the 24 tastings, prosecco got an average note of 7.9, while champagne got an average note of 7.2.
